Red Stick Fleet Services offers "on-site" truck and trailer repairs and maintenance. This means that we can perform almost all service and maintenance on your fleet vehicle while it is on the jobsite. Servicing the truck or completing the regular preventative maintenance right on the spot! So there is no need to bring the vehicle into the shop. No downtime! Your fleet vehicle stays on the road making your company money!

While manufactures may vary, typically your truck should have a preventative maintenance service every 3 months or 30,000 miles which ever occurs first. Be sure to check your owner's manual for the manufacture's suggested schedule. You may also contact Red Stick with your make and model, we'll be happy to help you.

Most fleet vehicles require an oil change every 30,000 miles (along with your preventative maintenance services). Need an oil change real quick but don't have time to stop by our shop? No problem! We can complete your oil change right on the spot at your job site.

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration requires all commercial motor vehicles with a GVW of 10,000 lbs or more to have an annual Safety Inspection every twelve months. For more information see FMSCA:396.17

There are many sensors and computerized components that manage your vehicle’s engine performance and emissions. When one of these fails, the “check engine” or "SES" light is illuminated. Although your vehicle may seem to run fine, it is important to have the issue addressed to prevent long-term problems. Red Stick can complete a diagnostics test to determine the cause of the service light. Contact us as soon as the light signals you.

This is a very serious problem – if your engine overheats for too long, you can damage your engine. As soon as possible, find a safe place to pull off the road and shut the engine off! Do not attempt to check the fluid level in the radiator as it can burn you. The best thing to do is call Red Stick or have your vehicle towed to our repair shop.

Milky brown engine oil is an indication of coolant in the oil. (This can be caused by a blown head gasket, cracked cylinder head, a failed transmission cooler, failed oil cooler, or cracked casings. This condition is very serious and needs to be checked by our professional technicians quickly.

Battery cables and terminals should be cleaned and inspected to make sure they provide a good electrical connection.

When the “ABS” light comes on it means that the on-board ABS computer has detected a problem in the system. When the light is on the ABS system becomes inoperable and should be check by a qualified technician as soon as possible.

Fuel filters should be changed every 10,000 to 25,000 miles depending on the driving type (local route trucks would be closer to the 10,000-mile mark and over-the-road trucks would be closer to the 25,000-mile mark).

Always replace burned-out fuses with ones of the same amperage. Usually the amperage is printed on the fuse. If the same fuse continues to “blow,” you should have the circuit checked professionally by one of our technicians for defects.
